PRO BONO OPPORTUNITIES

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ESTATE PLANNING CLINIC

We are pleased and proud to remind you of a GAYLAW activity that is very important to our organization and to the community at large. Please consider renewing your past commitment to the program or joining our effort as a newcomer. It won't require much time, you'll be very well supported and you'll make a huge difference in someone's life.

GAYLAW volunteers meet with people living with HIV/AIDS at the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center of Whitman-Walker Clinic to prepare simple planning documents (typically a Will, Advance Medical Directive and/or a Power of Attorney). No experience is required in estate planning or related areas. The documents you will prepare are uncomplicated and are designed for people with little, if any, property or income. A comprehensive AIDS Advocacy Training Manual, E-form documents and close mentoring by WWC staff will give you the necessary support. The time investment is very manageable - typically under 5 hours per client - but the impact you will make on the lives of those in need is tremendous. The Clinics generally begin at 5:45 at the WWC center located at 1701 14th St., NW (14th & R Streets), Washington, DC 20009.
